Now, as an experienced chef, I am well aware that sometimes, the difference between a good dish and a great one is in the small details. Here are some tips to help you achieve the perfect jalapeno & roasted red pepper hummus:

1. Use high-quality ingredients: For best results, use fresh, high-quality ingredients. Make sure to use extra-virgin olive oil and fresh lemon juice as they lend an essential depth of flavor.

2. Roast your own peppers: Though canned roasted red peppers are convenient, roasting your own will add a layer of smokiness and flavor to your hummus. Simply roast them over an open flame or under a broiler until blackened, then remove the skin.

3. Adjust seasoning: Always taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. If you like your hummus spicier, add more jalapenos or pepper flakes. If you prefer it creamier or tangier, add more tahini or lemon juice.

4. Texture is key: The texture of hummus is crucial for a good experience. Make sure you blend it completely before serving; if it’s too thick, gradually add water until you reach the desired consistency.

Jalapeno & Roasted Red Pepper Hummus Recipe

Another nice hummus recipe that makes use of my garden's peppers by way of The Wichita Eagle who got it from the North American Olive Oil Association. This one is a little lighter on the lemon & tahini - adjust to your taste of course. Use a potato masher to crush the garbanzos if you do not have food processor or blender - did it that way myself for years & now I prefer a chunkier hummus to the ultra-smooth, go figure. Serve with baked pita bread or pita chips or stuff into tomatoes (big cherries piped with smooth spicy hummus are great heavy hors d'oeuvres).
